The "Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat " is a consular establishment consisting of members elected from among craftsmen and professional organisations, as well as technicians.
It offers different services through its Decision-Making Centre, Apprenticeship Services, Training and Education Services, Business Formalities Centre, Trade Directory and Economic Department.
The Decision-Making Centre (CAD) is run by a team of psychologists who deal with approximately 700 young people every year, providing them with information, career guidance, help in establishing professional projects, personal specifications, etc. The CAD is also involved in activities such as the improvement of work and training practices, guidance for students of age to make career choices, promotion of trade careers in schools, etc. Finally, the CAD carries out studies in order to identify needs and to be able to meet them. The Apprenticeship Services administer 500 apprenticeship contracts every year, as well as approval applications. They collect the tax and receive company directors, young people and their parents on an individual basis.
The Training and Education Services offer diversified and high quality education and training possibilities (free short-term decentralised training periods for a variety of subjects such as business management, data processing, building trades, etc.) for young people, company directors, their spouses or their employees. They prepare the way for obtaining diplomas, degrees and certificates (Certificate of Qualification, Assistant Small Business Manager Certificate).
The purpose of the Economic Department is to promote economic development through actions that make it possible to help create new businesses, support those that already exist, facilitate business transfers, inform craftsmen of regulations related to health, safety and the environment in order to achieve better quality and open new markets. The partners of the "Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat de la Haute-Corse" are the "Union des Syndicats Artisanaux des Petites Entreprises" USAPE and the "Centre de Formation des Apprentis".
