The "Arte e Materia" International Trade Fair took place for the first time at the Exhibition Centre of the Sassari Chamber of Trade and Commerce (Instituto Procamera), on Saturday, 26 November and Sunday, 27 November 2005.

Funded within the framework of Pic INTERREG III and organised by the Sassari and Nuoro Chambers of Trade and Commerce and the EEIG, "Artisanat Transfrontalier", this event featured 95 exhibitors.

All of the artistic crafts sectors were represented: clay, iron, glass, wood and metals.

The aim of this event, the first of its kind, was to create a synergy between the regions of Corsica, Tuscany and Sardinia, in order to give the participants of a same sector the opportunity to make themselves known.

Corsica was represented through the participation of a dozen craftsmen from our region: pottery, ceramics, woodwork, jewellery-making, painted glass, decorative objects, copper work, etc.

A guarantee of quality and authenticity, this event should make it possible for our representatives to present and sell their goods and to make their know-how known to the many visitors who attended the fair.

All together, there were more than 90 stands that made up this major event, including those from Tuscany and the provinces of Nuoro and Sassari.
