The European Economic Interest Grouping is an entity established by EEC Regulation N° 2137-85 of 25 July 1985.
The purpose of these groupings is to facilitate or develop the economic activities of their members and to improve or enhance the results of these activities. It is not to make a profit for the grouping itself.
The EEIG, "Artisanat Transfrontalier", was created both by the department of northern Corsica and the Province of Livorno in Italy, on 24 October 1998 for a length of time of five years with the possibility of renewal.
Established within the framework of Pic INTERREG II, the project continued thanks to Pic INTERREG III, and was expanded to include the provinces of Nuoro and Sassari in Sardinia.
It has a capital of 41,771 €.
